Ode to you

We were friends, we were no lovers,

Yet people thought, “we are under covers.”

The bond was so firm, it left them perplexed,

At times, even we thought, it was complex.

The love between us, was a friendly one,

It was frolic, it was fun.

Often we did confide in each other,

May be we do sometimes act like lovers.

We gave it a try, we gave it a start,

And promised each other, we’ll never part.

The days were nice, the nights were good,

We talked about, whatever we could.

Then the things got confusing, and a lil’ awry,

And a night came by, when you said, “Sorry.”

I was fine, I am okay,

As you wish, so you may.

We are still friends, we’ll always will be,

Happy as ever, coz you are with me.
